As you may know, insufficient insulin secretion may be the main reason behind diabetes, and also this bring about some serious complications.

Currently, Western physicians use insulin injections for the reason that only treatment. Though insulin will be able to lower blood glucose levels level, symptoms reoccur quickly.

Furthermore, like cortisone hormone injection, it's many side-effects. Insulin cannot recover pancreas function  also it  quickens the maturing with the organ.

The Scientific Research Institute of Kinki University seen in yearly experiments that Ganoderma Lucidum gets the same effect as insulin.

Accordingly, after taking this herb, although insulin deficiency be supplemented, it may also result in the pancreas regain its original function. Additionally, it doesn't have any negative effects like injections do.

Insulin Resistance
X. Zhou and colleagues of Fudan University examined the effect of a water-soluble extract of Ganoderma lucidum on circulating glucose concentrations in mice. The results of their study, published in "The American Journal of Chinese Medicine" in 2007, showed that Ganoderma lucidum can reduce insulin resistance, which would increase insulin sensitivity. It was also found that Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides and triterpenes are the active compounds with anti-diabetic properties.
Antioxidant Effects
A study conducted by Hui-Na Zhang, Peking University, and colleagues found that Ganoderma lucidum extract causes blood sugar to lower and repairs alloxan-induced pancreatic cell damage in diabetic rats. It is thought that free radicals generated by alloxan kill pancreatic cells. The analysis of this experiment, published in "Life Sciences" in September 2003, indicated that Ganoderma provides profound protection to pancreatic cells from alloxan-induced oxidative damage.

Hypoglycemic Properties
Yihuai Gao, Massey University, and colleagues have demonstrated the hypoglycemic properties of Ganoderma lucidum. The results of this study were published in "International Journal for Medicinal Mushrooms" in 2004. The anti-diabetic effects of Ganoderma lucidium are likely attributable to its polysaccharide content, says Dr. Gao.
